About me

I am an experienced, professionally qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor working in central Cambridge, with over 10 years experience working in the field of psychological and mind-body therapies. This includes several years of working as a therapist in a variety of settings in both the voluntary and local authority sector, as well as a University counselling service. I have worked with a wide-spectrum of psychological difficulties and I have a particular interest in childhood trauma.

I am commited to providing psychotherapeutic counselling in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment. My preference is to work with individuals on an open-ended basis but can also arrange to work for an agreed period of time. I am committed to working alongside people in their struggle to discover who they are, to accompany them in their search to develop a sense of self and to find deeper meaning in life.

About me. flowersinfrontoftreeAs a sensitive and intuitive person, I have always been deeply interested in the relationship between the body, emotions, the mind and spirituality. I trained in complementary therapies in my twenties: spiritual healing and reflexology, followed by qualifying in craniosacral therapy later on. I undertook my first professional training as a psychotherapeutic counsellor at the Psychosynthesis Trust in London and I am now undertaking further training as a psychodynamic psychotherapist at the Society of Analytical Psychology, a widely respected training body in the UK for a developmental and contemporary approach to Jungian Analysis and Psychotherapy.

I hold the Psychosynthesis Trust Post Graduate Diploma qualification in Psychotherapeutic Counselling from the University of East London, which took three years to complete. I completed a further two year training in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy at the Craniosacral Therapy and Education Trust in London, plus a one year training in anatomy and physiology to support my work as a craniosacral therapist. I have completed a one year post-qualification specialist training in dissociation and trauma based on the work of Professor Franz Ruppert: Identity-oriented Psychotrauma Therapy (also known as trauma or identity constellation work).
