About me

I am an experienced, professionally qualified psychotherapist working in central Cambridge, with over 10 years experience working in the field of psychological and mind-body therapies. This includes several years of working as a therapist in a variety of settings in both the voluntary and local authority sector, as well as the University of Cambridge counselling service. I have worked with a wide-spectrum of psychological difficulties.

I am commited to providing psychotherapy in a safe and confidential environment. My preference is to work with individuals on an open-ended basis but can also arrange to work for an agreed period of time.

About me. flowersinfrontoftreeAs a sensitive and intuitive person, I have always been deeply interested in the relationship between the body, emotions, the mind and spirituality. I trained in complementary therapies in my twenties: spiritual healing and reflexology, followed by qualifying in craniosacral therapy later on. I undertook my first professional training as a psychotherapeutic counsellor at the Psychosynthesis Trust in London and have undertaken further training as a psychodynamic psychotherapist at the Society of Analytical Psychology, a training institution whose approach combines both a developmental and contemporary approach to Jungian Analysis and Psychotherapy.

I hold the Psychosynthesis Trust Post Graduate Diploma qualification in Psychotherapeutic Counselling from the University of East London, which took three years to complete. I completed a further two year training in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy at the Craniosacral Therapy and Education Trust in London, plus a one year training in anatomy and physiology to support my work as a craniosacral therapist. I have also completed a one year post-qualification specialist training in dissociation and trauma based on the work of Professor Franz Ruppert: Identity-oriented Psychotrauma Therapy, (IoPT) which is also known as trauma constellation work.

About me. horsejesuscollegeI am a full member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) ). This professional membership body holds a strict code of ethics and complaints procedure, maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and professional practice and also ensure that their members are appropriately trained, qualified and monitored. I consult regularly with a supervisor and take part in on-going CPD (continuing professional development).

Prior to training in the field of psychological therapies I worked in education as an English language teacher and in publishing in the field of mind-body-spirit illustrated books (e.g. on yoga and meditation) and English language education. I was also a Program Manager for an educational charity. I was awarded a first class, BA Hons degree in English Literature from the University of Sheffield.
